On January 29, 2020, Jan's School of Dance lost a beloved member of our dance family to breast cancer. Alivia Burns, the devoted mother of dancers Hailee and Lukas Burns, fought bravely for nearly five years, holding steadfast to her faith and hope. She was a cherished friend to so many of us, and her warmth, strength, and kindness are deeply missed. We will always treasure the beautiful memories we shared with her.
In honor of her memory, Jan's School of Dance established the Alivia Burns Memorial Scholarship. Each year, this scholarship is awarded to a deserving Jan's Dance Company student, chosen with love by Alivia's daughter, Hailee.
